Lifelong Learning

Classical & Medieval

My first bachelor's degree is in Classical and Medieval Studies.  This wasn't really planned (the plan at that point was for Physics, and this would be for fun), but, again, long story.  I studied a half-dozen dead languages. Among them were Ancient Greek, Latin, Sanskrit and Old Norse (in grad school, I added Old English and Old Irish!).*

I'll post here translations (on the appropriate language pages, where available), and also papers written, and presentations given, in addition to some outside links.  The major content area in this part of my website is the Greek page.

Papers:

Hellenistic Science

Late Antique Science

Pre-Renaissance Science

Science & Religion in Greek World

κατα της τελευτης: A Dialogue on Plato's Conception of the Afterlife

Causality's Black Box

Discussion 17: On Causality & Miracles
